Founded by a local barbering trendsetter, Tanya Medzata from Ukraine, City Hero barbershop is on a mission to help the men of Panevėžys become the power this city needs. To do so, every man must follow his authentic path, no matter how crazy.
Before moving to Panevėžys in 2022 and becoming a pioneering barber in the city, Tanya mastered her craft in Ukraine and across Europe. Her rich experiences in the barbering stage together with her unique sense of style made her arguably the most sought-after barber in the whole city. By founding City Hero, Tanya aims for more than just business success. She wants to change the culture, liberate men’s sense of style and help train a new generation of top-class barbers.
METHOD
For Tanya, the art of barbering is all about studying a man’s head both externally and internally. She believes that an amateur barber tries to make the head fit the haircut, but a true expert studies the head’s unique contours and crafts a haircut that harmonizes with its unique form.
Yet, Tanya takes it a step further: “As I delve into the inner contents of a man’s head – his thoughts, moods, and aspirations – I aim to sculpt a style that not only fits his head shape and enhances his appearance, but also empowers him to embrace the man he aspires to be”.
In Tanya’s skilled hands, barbering is nothing short of a transformative journey. As a founder and lead barber at City Hero barbershop and City Hero barber academy, she grooms a new generation of talented barbers in the spirit of her unique barbering methods.
